Jamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is the largest Scouting event in the world. It is held annually the third full weekend in October. JOTA uses amateur radio to link Scouts and hams around the world, around the nation, and in your own community. This jamboree requires no travel, other than to a nearby amateur radio operators ham shack.
Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club (FCARC) will be on hand with the knowhow and equipment. If you’re interested in doing the Radio Merit Badge contact Merit Badge Councilor Larry Peterson at email@example.com before September 26th to receive a work book and directions for completing it.
You will need to bring a Blue Card and the completed work book with you on October 17th, anytime form 10am-2pm, to the Scout Shop and make a contact via the FCARC Ham Shack Van in the parking lot, plan on spending about 25 minutes while you workbook is reviewed.
Radio Merit Badge Pamphlets and JOTA Patches are for sale at the Scout Shop in Appleton.
