It is that time of year to start reflecting on all the efforts of volunteers across the council and districts as we prepare to select the 2021 Silver Beaver Class to be recognized in 2022. Think about long tenured leaders, OA Chapter Advisors, Event/Activity Chairs, current/past District Committee Members, current/past District Commissioner Team members, etc.
The prestigious Silver Beaver Award was established in 1931 and is presented by the National Boy Scouts of America, to council, district, or unit volunteers for distinguished service to youth. This is the highest national award a local council can bestow upon a volunteer.
Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service to the council. The Silver Beaver award is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. Anyone may nominate any deserving registered Scouter and submit a nomination to the council.
Nominations forms, a list of previous recipients and additional information about the award can be found at www.baylakesbsa.org/silverbeaver.
All nominations must be received no later than January 7th, 2022 in order to be accepted. Nominations without all foundational information being included will not be accepted and will be immediately returned to the nominator without delay for further documentation.
