Anne Eibes is a member of Troop 4626 out of Slinger, WI, chartered by the Allenton American Legion in Slinger, WI.
She completed her Eagle Board of Review on January 7, 2025.
As she writes, “My project was restoring a nature trail and adding an outdoor classroom at Addison Elementary School in Slinger. I cleared a tree that had fallen on the trail and reused the wood to make the stools for the outdoor class room. I also had a brat fry fundraiser that allowed me to buy two outdoor suspension playgrounds to set up along the trail.”
Her unit leader is Kate Steedman.
Anne’s Eagle Court of Honor is expected in June 2025.
Nick LaFond, a member of Troop 1041, chartered by Red Smith School PTO of Green Bay, WI, completed his Eagle Board of Review on January 14, 2025.
For his Eagle project, he created a video kiosk for a 101 year-old Kahlenberg engine.
He writes, “Located at Rogers Street Fishing Village (Museum in Two Rivers, WI), it enables visitors to view video of the antique engine starting and running. The engine is very difficult to start, and is usually only started once or twice per year. I selected this project because the engine was used in two fishing tugs owned by my great-great-great grandfather. I wanted to preserve the legacy of the engine for future generations.”
His unit leader is John Trabert.
Nick’s Eagle Court of Honor will be scheduled this spring.
Arrah Markohn, a member of Troop 6780, chartered by American Legion Lt. Ray Dickop Post 36 of West Bend. WI, completed her Eagle Board of Review on December 17, 2024.
In her words, Arrah’s Eagle project: “I worked with the local public library to update the worn out train table top in the children’s area and then built two custom benches to be used for pretend play. The train table is the most used item in the children’s area. The best part about updating the train table is that the new track layout was done 100% by scouts – we sent the adults away on a hike so that the final project could be envisioned by those it was intended for – youth.”
Her unit leader is Steve Naumann.
Arrah’s Eagle Court of Honor was scheduled for February 9, 2025.
Randee Mooney, a member of Troop 177, chartered by Friends of Greenville, WI, Scouting (FOGS), completed her Eagle Board of Review on December 16, 2024.
She writes about her Eagle project: “Randee and her amazing team of Scouts and family members worked hard on her Eagle Scout project to revitalize the Mooney Butterfly Garden at 1000 Islands in Kaukauna. Hazardous plants were removed, walking paths were re-established, and debris was cleared out. Randee also built and placed 6 beautiful Leopold-style benches in the garden.” This spring, she will complete her Gold Award for Girl Scouts by adding interpretive signage and educational materials about monarchs and other pollinators. She also plans to install updated butterfly houses too.
Her unit leader is Leah Schwarz.
Randee’s Eagle Court of Honor will be held later this summer.
Nigel Walls is a member of Troop 840, American Legion American Legion Rose-Harms Post 355 of Grafton, WI.
He completed his Eagle Board of Review on December 21, 2024.
For his Eagle project, in his words, “I worked with my Troop and my family as well as local community businesses to assemble an entrance arch for Woodview Elementary School for their new outdoor classroom. The arch ended up being over 10’ tall and over 5.5’ wide and had a 10’ x 4’ aluminum sign as its centerpiece atop the arch. I reached out to Kapco Metal Stamping, who graciously agreed to provide their industrial grade plasma cutter for my project. The arch will serve as a welcoming sign for visitors and students for years to come.”
His unit leader is Greg Matthews.
Nigel’s Eagle Court of Honor is expected to be scheduled for this spring.
Braven Wilson, a member of Troop 825, chartered by the Howards Grove (WI) Rod & Gun Club, completed his Eagle Board of Review on December 5, 2024.
For his project, he constructed a Brat Hut.
In his words, “While my younger brother was participating in a hockey tournament at the local hockey rink, Sheboygan Lakers Blue Line, my step-dad was volunteering to grill brats to sell at the tournament. It happened to be raining/snowy and miserable by the grill. So while brainstorming ideas for my Eagle Scout project, I thought about building a Grill Hut gazebo for the rink to help out the numerous volunteers that grill nearly every weekend and for big events. I worked with local organizations to get the lumber, metal roof, and hardware donated for this project. The rink installed a large concrete platform. Over the course of a year, I found a plan, prepped materials, and coordinated helpers. During the summer of 2024, over five different workdays, and with the help of roughly 20 friends, family, and fellow scouts, we completed a strong and sturdy grill hut. I’m hopeful this will last for many years to come and help the many rink volunteers stay warmer and drier in the future.”
His unit leader is Shane Arneson.
Braven’s Eagle Court of Honor is scheduled for March 16, 2025.
