Brandon Heimann is a member of  Troop 810, chartered by Kiwanis Club-Darboy, from Chilton, WI. He successfully completed his Eagle Board of Review on May 23, 2023.

His Eagle project, in his own words:

“My Eagle project was completed at Ledge View Nature Center just outside of Chilton, WI. It involved the renovation of fence line around the hawk cage and also along the east side of their property. The old fence around the hawk cage was removed, added gravel to level out the visitor area, replaced the old fence posts and rails with new split-rail ones that are now cemented into the ground. The east side fence was removed and replaced with new split-rail fencing. This project provided a much needed upgrade to improve safety and beauty of some areas around the nature center.”

Brandon’s unit leader is Zach Platner.

An Eagle Court of Honor is yet to be scheduled.

Charles Loeffler is a member of Troop 824, chartered by Elkhart Lake Scout Holding, from Elkhart Lake, WI. He completed his Eagle Board of Review on June 8, 2023.

His Eagle project, in his words:

“My Eagle Scout Project was to build a lit pathway along a walking area in a community park. The path goes around a local park called June Vollrath Park in Elkhart Lake. I had heard neighbors and community members concerned about the lack of lighting when going on a late evening or early morning walk. I myself, have experienced this many times biking home at night. This need became my focus for my Eagle project. I would illuminate the path with solar LED motion lights. My volunteers and I added twenty-three large 8′ wood posts in the ground along with concrete, then put lights on top. Operating an auger and mixing concrete was not fun, but we managed to have a good time and work together. The project was a success. I have received many thanks for my project.”

Charles’ unit leader is  Derek Schukow.

A Court of Honor is planned for September.

Jenny Van Handel is a member of Troop 6114, chartered by the Congregational United Church of Christ, from Neenah, WI. She completed her Eagle Board of Review on June 15, 2023.

In her own words:

“For my Eagle Scout project, we created two sensory carts that will be used in the Neenah Middle School. The carts will be open to ALL students to use when they need to take a mental health break so they can have the most effective day possible.”

Her unit leader is Bob Charapata.

An Eagle Court of Honor is scheduled for July 27, 2023.

Jayden Vercauteren is a member of Troop 1043, chartered by the Optimist Club, from De Pere, WI. He completed his Eagle Board of Review on May 9, 2023.

His Eagle project, in his own words:

“My project is located at the Wayside Volunteer Fire Station and it consists of landscaping around 3 flag poles and a memorial bell. There is a concrete curb that surrounds the flag poles and the memorial bell. The whole area is filled in with river rock stones and ten bushes. My project also consisted of repainting the three flag poles , replacing the rope and flags, and pressure washing the memorial bell and block wall. Finally, I planted ten new trees to help replace some of the trees that the fire dept. just cut down. The impact of my project is that the fire station looks more appealing, it is a lot easier to cut grass around the flag poles, and in the future the tree’s will provide more shade.”

Jayden’s unit leader is Brian Olsen.

An Eagle Court of Honor is scheduled for Sunday, August 27, 2023.
