Scouts & Scouters,

As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Bay-Lakes Council is taking precautionary steps to do our part in helping combat the spread of this virus. The safety and health of our Scouts, Scouting families, and our communities is of utmost importance to us, which is why after great thought, and communications with some of the Food Banks we have decided it’s best to postpone the Scouting for Food Drive. I know this is hard, but as leaders in our communities we feel the best way we can lead is to follow the directions of our government officials and stay home, and when the time is right get out there and help.

Details of what a postponement looks like are still coming together, and the spread of this pandemic is ever changing. We were able to purchase the door hangers for the 2020 campaign through a very generous grant from JJ Keller Foundation. Scouts are thrifty and want to be great stewards of all of our donations, so we will formulate a plan to be able to utilize the current door hangers for our new dates. Stay tuned for details.

We will be working to inform our Food Bank and Pantry partners to the current postponement and new plans as we have them. We know the need for food is only going to grow and when the time is right we will do our best to have the most successful Scouting for Food drive in our history. We will communicate again once we have more information and timeline.

Be safe, healthy, and wash your hands,
